1 large yam (about 750 mL/3 cups) peeled and cubed
250 ml (1 cup) millet, rinsed
750 ml (3 cups) Western Family chicken broth
30 ml (2 tbsp) Western Family non-hydrogenated margarine
freshly ground pepper
green onions, chopped (optional)
  1. Place first 4 ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes or until millet and yams are tender.
  2. Remove from heat, mash yams. Season with a sprinkle of freshly ground pepper and serve garnished with green onions if desired.
