



Preheat oven to 350F (180C). Prepare an 8x8" square pan by spraying with non-stick cooking spray or line with parchment paper.
In a medium saucepan, combine the dates and water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and mash dates. Remove from heat and stir in apples.
In medium bowl, combine flour, oats, sugar and cinnamon. Cut in the butter to form a crumbly mixture.
Spread half of the flour mixture into the pan. Top with the apple-date mixture. Cover with the remaining flour mixture. Pat down. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
