Grilled Blackened Halibut with Mango Salsa

Ingredients
1 lb halibut
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tsps brown sugar
2 tsps smoked paprika
1 tsp cumin
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp dried thyme
½ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp salt
1 mango, diced
1 avocado, diced
¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
¼ cup cilantro, chopped
1 lime, juiced
Directions
- In a small bowl, toss together the mango, avocado, red onion, cilantro and lime juice. Cover and set aside to prep halibut.
- Prep your grill to 350 degrees F. In a small bowl, combine all your spices and brown sugar for the blackened rub. Rub the spice mix into the halibut, making sure it’s entirely covered.
- When your grill is ready, place your fish back side down and grill 5 to 8 minutes per side or until fish is cooked through.
- Serve immediately with mango salsa and your favourite sides.
